lol, collector's edition is sold out!  No biggie, i just bought the digital deluxe edition...can't see them running out of digital copies of the game.  Also on that page is the min specs to run...I think my mom's pc could run this:

Want to point out something, and this is very important for those who have pre-ordered.  I ordered via EA's Origin, and i got an email confirming my order.  At the end of the email are steps to register your purchase.

1) Go to www.swtor.com/preorder/code
2) Click "Register your pre-order" (You will be prompted to log in or create a STAR WARS™: The Old Republic™ account if needed)
3) Enter and Confirm your pre-order code when prompted. (This is listed as “Digital Rights” in your receipt above.)
4) Complete Registration.
5) You will be notified by email of your early access time at a later date.

The code they want you to put in is a cd key format type of code.  See if you have one in your receipt/confirmation email as i'm not sure what kind of confirmation you get if you bought from another retailer.  This not only registers your game to your SW:TOR account, but also supposedly will allow you early access to the game.  Regardless, i think it's important to follow the steps above to get your game registered.

Also of note on my confirmation, I saw this line which made me sad:

In order for any guilds created via the Guild Headquarters to be imported into the Game during Early Game Access, at least four members of that guild will have to pre-order the Game, then enter their Pre-Order Codes at the Code Redemption Center. These Pre-Order Codes must be redeemed against the accounts that are part of the guild. The guild leader must also login to the Guild Headquarters at the beginning of Phase 3 of the Guild Pre-Launch Program to verify that their guild remains active and wants to be imported. For more information, please read the Guild FAQ.

Nice catch, Dugg.  One more reason to register your game when you order it.  I'll take a look at the FAQ and see if there's any indication on when this Phase 3 is gonna happen.

WARNING:  From reading on the TOR forum, looks like a lot of people are getting screwed when buying from GameStop; especially the Collector's Edition.  If you choose to buy from GS online, buyer beware.  Of course this is nothing new to me as i always thought of GS to be a bit like a greasy car dealer for some reason.

Definitely tempted by that Collector's Edition, but I think I'll just get the digital download from Origins.  Thanks for the warning on GameStop.

I haven't seen anything on the monthly cost. I hope there isn't one. I hate paying to play,but this one i will. lol

There will be a monthly fee, as the pre-order stipulates, "first 30 days free".  I used to have the same feeling as you about paying to play, but you have realize that the fee isn't paying to play the game, you're paying additional content like world events, holidays, and other shit like that.

Yeah, you're paying for shit like server upkeep, content updates, etc. Not just to "play the game."


These games aren't like CS where you get a patch and a few guns are tweaked, etc. This is the type of game where a new patch might bring an entire new planet, or completely change the way certain classes are spec'd.

Something about ppl buying the collector's edition but GS sending them the code for the standard edition.  Then the victims get caught in a run around between GS and EA.  Shit's whack.
